Inline skating is the most common skating or roller skating activity. Some people call inline skating recreational skating or fitness skating because of the benefits it offers. Inline is synonymous with roller skating or rollerblading. It is called inline skating because you use inline skates. Actually, an inline skate is the same boot with wheels people call roller blades or roller skates.
The wheel is the most important part of any inline skate. There are a few questions you need to answer before you select the wheels. Where will you be doing your inline skating? If it is inside, you might like a harder wheel. How will you use your skates? Is it for recreation, roller hockey, racing? This will help determine the hardness as well as the size of the wheel. Also, you need to know that you can easily change the wheels of your skate. It takes just a few minutes.
You could read through the classified ads in your local newspaper to see if anyone is selling a second-hand pair of rollerblades, which you could pick up cheaply and then remove the inline skate wheels and fit them to your own rollerblades. You could buy a new pair of inline skates - costly, but if your needs have changed and you are now using your inline skates for a different purpose to the one you had originally in mind, buying new ones may be the best.
